The Plantation Police Department maintains its own, on-site, Public Safety Dispatch Center. This means that when you call, we answer. Our dispatchers receive and process roughly 129,000 routine and emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services each year.

Dispatchers are responsible for processing incoming calls, determining what resources to allocate, and
dispatching the appropriate units to the calls. This includes accessing databases such as NCIC, FCIC, and DHSMV systems to provide pertinent information about wants, warrants, and safety information to field personnel. The Public Safety Dispatch Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as well as on weekends and holidays.
