The Records Unit serves as the official repository for all original police reports, including offense reports, vehicular accident reports, and supplementary reports completed by patrol and investigative officers. Each document is meticulously processed, indexed, and archived to ensure accurate and permanent recordkeeping.

The unit is also responsible for entering, updating, validating, and canceling all reported statistical and criminal history information provided to state and federal Criminal History Record Information databases. Adhering to strict standards of confidentiality, the Records Unit does not discuss report details over the telephone.

Members of the public may request copies of police reports in person at the police department located at 451 NW 70th Terrace.

Alarms

Register, renew, or pay for your alarm permit at the Plantation Police Department.

Alarm Companies and alarm users must be responsible for registering and maintaining alarm systems to help ensure prompt responses from Plantation Police and Fire Department personnel when a true emergency exists. False alarms cost the City and its citizens thousands of dollars per year – and take officers away from actual emergencies.

All City of Plantation alarm users are required to register their alarms with the City of Plantation Police Department. This includes all residential, business and government locations within the City of Plantation boundaries. Refer to the City’s Alarm Ordinance for specific requirements and Alarm Permit Application.

  • You must complete the required Motor Vehicle Accident Crash Report Request Form Affidavit to obtain an accident report.

  • Crash reports are .15 cents per page
  • Copies are available after 5 working days
  • Crash Reports now available online 24 hours a day at the Florida Crash Portal ($10.00 per report plus $2.00 fee per shopping cart). Google Chrome browser is recommended when accessing this site.
