Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) and State Housing Initiatives Partnership Program (SHIP)
The City of Plantation announces the availability of approximately $722,443 for SHIP Program fiscal year 2024-2025, and $578,477 for CDBG Program fiscal year 2024-2025. These funds will be used for the City of Plantation’s housing initiatives of Housing Rehabilitation and Purchase Assistance for very low, low, and moderate- income households, with priority given to special needs households. Applications will be processed on a first come, first qualified, first served basis in the order applications are received until all funds have been encumbered for the programs listed below.
Applications for Housing Rehabilitation and Purchase Assistance will be available for pick up at Minority Builders Coalition (MBC), 499 NW 70 Avenue, Suite #114, Plantation, FL 33317 beginning Monday, February 17, 2025 , through Friday, March 14, 2025, from 9:00am until 5:00pm. PURCHASE ASSISTANCE
Provides eligible low-and-moderate income first-time homebuyers with down payment and closing cost assistance to purchase a primary residential property in the City of Plantation. A first-time homebuyer includes individuals who have had no ownership in a principal residence within the last three years. Maximum award amounts for each income category are included in the application packet.
HOUSING REHABILATION
Provides eligible low-and-moderate-income homeowners with home repair/rehabilitation assistance to correct code violations, address health and safety issues, eliminate unsafe and substandard living conditions, and accessibility for special needs and the elderly.
