Founder & Head Coach, Marcus Fluitt Tennis Academy
Marcus Fluitt is a seasoned tennis professional with over 15 years of experience spanning elite competition, professional play, and top-tier coaching. Born in Miami, Florida, Marcus carved a standout junior career as Florida’s #1 ranked player, reaching #10 nationally and #49 internationally. He honed his skills at the prestigious Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, where he trained with legends such as Andre Agassi, Boris Becker, and Serena Williams—whom he later served as a hitting partner alongside Venus throughout 2003.
At the University of Kentucky, Marcus earned a Bachelor's in Sports Management with a minor in Finance while anchoring the Wildcats at the top singles and doubles positions. Under his leadership, the team captured an SEC Championship and reached the NCAA Division I Quarterfinals with a program-best #5 national ranking. Individually, Marcus soared to a top 70 singles and top 20 doubles ranking in college tennis.
On the professional circuit, Marcus competed in ITF Futures tournaments, securing two singles finals and four in doubles, peaking at world rankings of #700 in singles and #400 in doubles.
Since transitioning to coaching in 2007, Marcus has guided a generation of junior players to collegiate success at premier institutions including Stanford, Duke, UNC, Emory, and the University of Miami. As the founder of the Marcus Fluitt Tennis Academy, established in 2022, he continues to mentor emerging talent with a philosophy rooted in vision, desire, and discipline—echoing his favorite quote from Muhammad Ali.
When he's not on the court, Marcus enjoys basketball, football, auto repair, and woodworking. He proudly cheers for the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors.
