COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT

The City of Plantation annually receives Community Development Block Grant funds directly from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This funding is primarily targeted at assisting low – to moderate – income families and individuals most notably with expanding the supply of decent, safe and sanitary housing. The City is focusing Community Development Block Grant funding on infrastructure projects primarily in the Eastern portion of Plantation. This funding has enabled the City to create and strengthen relationships with all government levels as well as for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Capital Improvements - Current & Past Projects.

Public Services - Funding for community development (not housing related) for the elderly and low/moderate income residents. Grants for agencies are available through this program. Applications are currently being accepted through March 10, 2006. Please call 954-797-2622 to request an application.

Rehabilitation Program - Funding for housing repairs for low to moderate income residents of the City of Plantation. Supplemental funds for the SHIP program.
