Information

Event Format: 192 singles draw with feed-in consolation. 96 team doubles draw.

Eligibility: Players born on or after August 1, 1993. This event is restricted to the following junior girls: US citizens, permanent resident aliens, refugees and asylees, junior girls residing in Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Samoa or Guam, Canadian residents of British Columbia. You may be asked for proof of status. Players will be selected via their USTA national ranking, their sectional quota, wild card and alternates.

Hours of Play: Singles will begin at 8:00 am on Sunday, July 13, 2008. Doubles play will begin on Sunday, July 15 at 1:00 pm. Consolation singles will being on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 8:00 am.

Default Time: is 15 minutes after your match is called to the court. To receive any consideration and avoid a default you must call 954-452-2532 (during the tournament) before your starting time. All players must check-in 15 minutes prior to your starting time. **All singles players will receive a match ticket with the time, date, and place for each match. This ticket protects YOU. Please keep it until you report for your next scheduled match.

Entry Process: All players must register using the USTA on-line registration system. Entry deadline is June 21 at noon eastern time.

Entry Fee: $95.00 via credit card and on-line registration. Alternates and accepted players whose credit card is not processed must send a check for $95.00 made out to Plantation Tennis Tournament.

Notification of Players: Selection to the tournament will be made by June 28 and posted on the internet at usta.com (Tournament ID# 152100807).

Players check-in: Players check-in will be held at the official tournament hotel, PLANTATION SHERATON SUITES, on Saturday July 12 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Players will receive their player gifts, maps, starting times, tournament information and draws. Doubles registration will also be taken. Late check-ins need to call Lowell Coffman by Friday July 11 to confirm your entry and arrival.

Starting Times: Starting times will be given out at the players check-in, and will be available on USTA.com beginning Thursday July 10.
** Please note, if you are seeded or have a bye you will not play singles on Sunday July 13, but doubles will begin for all players on Sunday.

Dress Code: All players must wear appropriate tennis attire. Players will be directed to change outfits if inappropriate attire is seen during matches.

Players Meeting: There is a mandatory meeting on Saturday July 12 at 6:00 pm at the official hotel: Sheraton Suites-Plantation. This meeting is for players and parents to meet the tournament referee. Immediately following the meeting there will be a dinner for players and families. The dinner is free to all tournament entrants and their families provided by the Sheraton Suites-Plantation. Sectional pictures will be taken after the meeting.

Players Housing: Housing will be provided for players beginning on Saturday July 12. Please e-mail by July 7 with request and travel information.

Site Information: The Frank Veltri Tennis Center is a city-owned facility with 26 Har-Tru (Clay) courts. It is located in Plantation Florida, a suburban city of 84,000 15 minutes outside of Fort Lauderdale. Hotels, shopping and practice sites are only 5 minutes away.
