Herbert Herriman, Director
Revenue Administration
Using a customized computer tracking system, the Department monitors all expected payments from franchisers, other governments, vendors, etc. As payments are received, the system posts them to the appropriate revenue account, and shows the receipt in the module.
Reports can then be generated for following up and for the audit work papers. The City handles all cost recovery, special duty police, special assessment, fire inspections, code compliance, street trees and other miscellaneous billings. Finance has automated the remittance processing of approximately 48,000 checks monthly. Payments can be made at Plantation City Hall and the Police Department Headquarters.
Expenditure Administration
47,000 checks are processed each year. Most expenditures are processed by purchase orders, petty cash receipts and third party administered funds (i.e. Worker's Comp. And Health Insurance). Payment processing and account posting is entirely computerized. All bank and trust statements are reconciled by the Department.
