directing and supervising the City Electronic Information System operations,

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Manages
strategic applications.
Coordinates
between the various departments and Information Technology Department to
maintain and improve the databases.
Monitors
software system performance overall and by individual machine.
Works
with City’s Information Technology Director to suggest and implement new
hardware and software technologies for Public Safety.
Plans,
improvises and oversees programs for orientation and training for all public
safety employees.
Accumulates
records and prepares computer reports.
Identifies
and resolves problems.
Performs
related work as required and as directed.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND
SKILLS
Knowledge
of computer hardware and software.
Knowledge
of server systems and their support.
Considerable
knowledge of Windows Server 2000/2003.
Considerable
knowledge of modern machine technology.
Considerable
knowledge of I.P. networking.
Knowledge
of modern office practices and procedures.
Ability
to maintain confidentiality, prioritize work assignments and to work

to train technicians and system users in an individual classroom setting.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND
TRAINING
Bachelor's
Degree preferred with major course work in computer science or appropriate
field supplemented by five (5) years experience in systems/network management
or a related field. Experience with
current operating systems such as Windows Server, Windows 2000/XP. Experience with SQL server and knowledge of
metropolitan area networks preferred.

equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.

in the City’s Emergency Operations Plan and will require the employee occupying
this position to work for declared emergencies.
Attendance at National Incident Management System (NIMS) training at the
appropriate level is mandatory.
