The Plantation Police Department is proud to provide a full-time Victim Advocate/ Juvenile Counselor to assist victims and families with the criminal justice system, comfort individuals and families and to inform victims of their rights under the Florida law.
If you are not a victim of a crime, but are experiencing other difficulties, the Victim Advocate/Juvenile Counselor may be able to assist you with information and referrals to community based service providers.
Your advocate will provide friendly, professional and appropriate assistance as you deal with the criminal justice system and other life challenges. Advocates are NOT lawyers, but are familiar with the workings of the criminal justice system as well as the needs and rights of victims. We understand how crime can affect and alter your life and we are here to help you deal with the emotional, financial and legal needs you may have as a result of a crime. There is no fee for the services of the Victim Advocate/Juvenile Counselor.
