Welcome to the City of Plantation Building Department.  Our staff strives daily to make it one of the best permitting divisions in the country providing a very “customer friendly”  atmosphere. 

The customer service team is available to assist you Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (last sign-in at 4:00 PM).  The plan reviewers are available to the public from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM daily and the inspectors are available to the public from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM daily.

We are excited to announce the arrival of our NEW printable permit applications now available on the Forms page.  For your convenience, we have also made them interactive so that you can easily fill them out and/or just print them prior to bringing them to the Building Department.  The existing carbon copy applications will still be utilized and accepted.  We are hoping this new addition will be helpful to all.

The Building Department has introduced several new services to the community.  One of those being “Online Permitting”.  This service allows anyone to research online permit records 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.   In addition, “Simple Permits” may be applied for online by a licensed, registered contractor.  Samples of these permits would be: a/c replacements, lawn sprinkler, water heater, burglar alarms and low voltage electric.

We also now offer  two (2) choices to schedule inspections:
           
            1.  Call the automated inspection line at 954-587-4456 – Ext. 5000
            2.  Logon onto the Internet at www.velocityhall.com

You must be a Registered Contractor to schedule inspections and apply for minor permits online.  Registration is available online.
