Welcome to the City of Plantation Building Department. The Building Department ensures the safety and stability of all structures within the City by enforcing all building codes and city codes including, but not limited to, the Florida Building Code, accessibility and life safety codes.
We continually strive to maintain a customer friendly atmosphere along with prompt, efficient delivery of services for all our customers to make it the best permitting department in the county.
Our hours of operation are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Our last sign-in at the permit counter is at 4:00. The plan reviewers are available from 8:00 to 11:00 and 2:00 to 4:00 daily. You may reach the inspectors from 8:00 to 9:00 and 3:30 to 4:00 daily.
The Building Department has several automated permit services to offer and encourage you to take advantage of them – Online Permitting and Permit Information Line. Through these services you can apply for a “simple” permit (online only), schedule an inspection, obtain inspection results, check plan review status, and check the status of your permit.
