Beginning July 1, 2007, the City of Plantation is revising its solid waste and recycling pricing for residential service. The new pricing structure provides for a monthly service fee charged to all residential users, resulting in significantly lower blue bag costs. A nominal CPI price increase will also be in effect for residential users of toter carts (Plantation Acres, Melaleuca Isles, Hawks Landing). Additionally, all residential customers (both blue bag and toter carts) will be charged a monthly recycling fee of $1.
Also note, residents with curbside recycling service and residents residing in participating multi-family properties may place magazines, catalogs, phonebooks, office paper, junk mail and chipboard (cereal boxes) in the same recycle bag as their newspapers and inserts. A separate recycle bag is not required.
