Our Crafts Division is a construction company within itself, with expertise in all phases of construction management including project design, remodeling, furniture building, pressure cleaning, cost estimating, and implementation. The Crafts Division handles repairs and maintenance for electrical, plumbing, a/c, sidewalks, painting, pest control, Hurricane preparations and many others.
Our Garage Division has a staff of eleven members that maintain all of the City’s 554 motor vehicles, over 750 pieces of equipment, machines, generators, lawn equipment and various other landscape machinery. Routine maintenance may range from engine diagnostics and preventive maintenance to major repair work. The Garage also handles purchasing and receiving new vehicles and equipment.
The Grass Maintenance Division provides assistance to many divisions. Grass and hedge cutting, fertilization, litter control are some of their daily duties. Their work is seen by residents, visitors and commuters throughout the City every day. You know you are in Plantation!
Landscape is responsible for trimming, removing and planting trees, beautification of City landscapes, pesticide and herbicide spraying. Public Works crews take extra efforts to preserve City trees, by regularly relocating, rather than destroying them, an ongoing practice saving thousands of dollars each year.
Our Sprinkler crew is responsible for the installation and maintenance of 168 irrigation systems throughout the City that provide water to the grass and thousands of plants, trees and flowers installed by the Landscape Division. Installation requires careful planning of depth, distance, pump location, water supply, electrical supply and proper drainage.
The Streets/Stormwater Division continues to follow a maintenance plan and schedule of cleaning catch basis, drain lines, outfalls, canals and drainage ditches. Stormwater workers work hand in hand with the Engineering Department to follow all Federal mandated MPDES requirements at all times. Pavement management and re-surfacing neighborhood streets are continuous. Maintenance of traffic signage, striping and traffic markings are all part of a program that follows Florida Department of Transportation standards.
