PLANTATION SOLID WASTE & RECYCLING SERVICE RATES

In July 2007, the City of Plantation revised its solid waste and recycling pricing for residential service. The new pricing structure provides for a monthly service fee charged to all residential users, resulting in significantly lower blue bag costs. A nominal CPI price increase will also be in effect for residential users of toter carts (Plantation Acres, Melaleuca Isles, Hawks Landing). Additionally, all residential customers (both blue bag and toter carts) will be charged a monthly recycling fee of $1.00.

Also note, residents with curbside recycling service and residents residing in participating multi-family properties may place magazines, catalogs, phonebooks, office paper, junk mail and chipboard (cereal boxes) in the same recycle bag as their newspapers and inserts. A separate recycle bag is not required.

Base rate for residential user $6.40
Blue bag cost $1.68
Clear recycle bag cost $0.18
Monthly recycling fee $1
Change effective 10/01/2009; new solid waste and recycling charges will be assessed on resident’s monthly Utility bill.  Partial payments will be assessed to environmental charges first.

Change effective 10/01/2009. Solid waste and recycling charges will continue to be assessed through WM invoicing.

Should you frequent a grocery store within the immediate area that does not stock Plantation garbage and recycling bags, please notify Pubic Works or Waste Management so arrangements may be made for that store to add them to their inventory.
