DEVELOPMENT UPDATE – August 2017
There continues to a flurry of development activity around the City especially in the Midtown District. A number of development proposals are going through the approval process, under construction, or near completion.
Amli’s 287 unit apartment complex is under construction and will have a dramatic visual impact on Peters Road just off of University Drive.
Lakeside recently received final approval to provide 271 apartment units along American Expressway adjacent to the Manor.
The eagerly anticipated Plantation Walk (old Fashion Mall property) was recently approved and will contain a mix of restaurant, retail, office, hotel and a total of 700 apartment units in a truly integrated mixed use development.
Cornerstone/Millcreek is nearing final approval to build 312 apartment units within the Cornerstone Office Park off Pine Island Road and I-595.
Plantation Midtown Square (old American Express property) is currently under review proposing 598 apartment units with a retail component at the corner of Cleary and Pine Island.
Also some new retail is going in as well. Lucky’s Market is now open at University Drive and Peters Road. A new Starbucks and some additional retail to be located on the corner of Pine Island and Broward Boulevard is currently going through the approval process.
Further afield is the near completion of the retail cluster at Plantation Pointe located at the corner of Sunrise Blvd and University Drive. The following retail and restaurants are soon to open: Walgreens, Pieology Pizzeria, Starbucks, McAlister’s Deli, Panda Express, Chipotle, Habit Burger, and ATT.
Broadstone, a 250 garden apartment style development across from Plantation High School on Sunrise Boulevard is now leasing units.
Strata a 150 unit townhome development located off Sunrise Boulevard near Rick Case Acura dealership will break ground soon.
One only needs to take a drive around the City to check out the many new lifestyle options that make Plantation a great place to live work and play.
