Location is everything!

Thank you for taking an interest in the City of Plantation. Here you can enjoy both a metropolitan business environment and suburban living amenities. We have numerous parks, golf courses, peaceful neighborhoods, and convenient shopping.  Businesses and families thrive in Plantation, where "the grass is greener!"

Plantation is a planned community that combines quality commercial and residential development with one of the lowest millage rates in Broward County.  Plantation is centrally located in Broward County and the South Florida Region with direct access to the Interstate Highway System (I-595, I-75, and I-95) and the Florida Turnpike.  Plantation provides access to all of South Florida’s major attractions and is only 15 minutes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades, one of the most accessible deep-water seaports on the eastern seaboard.

In order to ensure continued growth and economic prosperity for Plantation, the City has focused its efforts and resources on its business districts. The districts – Plantation Midtown, Plantation Gateway and Plantation Technology Park – are specially designed to reflect the quality of the City of Plantation with a uniqueness all their own.  They are:

  1. Plantation Midtown (bound by I-595, University Drive, Cleary Boulevard and Pine Island Roads) includes quality multi-story, mixed-use office, retail and residential redevelopment.
  2. Plantation Technology Park (located on the north and east side of Sunrise Boulevard on the curve) Broward County’s first technology park is home to several high-quality, light-industrial and technology-based businesses.
  3. Plantation Gateway Development District (State Road 7 Corridor) One of the fastest growing redevelopment areas in Broward County with over $20 million dollars in public improvements.

All of these advantages, plus the amenities of a large City with a small town environment, make Plantation your premier business choice in South Florida.

The Economic Development Division is here to serve the needs of both existing and potential new businesses. If you are considering relocating your business to Plantation, or have questions regarding the development process, please contact Charity Good, Economic Development Coordinator, at 954-797-2768.
