All park facilities within the City of Plantation are for its residents’ use. Individuals wishing to obtain a permit for a group’s use of the facilities should contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at 954/452-2521. COCOPLUM PARK This passive neighborhood park is primarily a tot lot park, available to neighborhood children and their families. COUNTRY CLUB CIRCLE LINEAR PARK The Linear Trail measures 1.85 miles around Fort Lauderdale Country Club Golf Course. FUMPSTON PARK Passive and quiet, this park offers an opportunity to sit and read a book or enjoy a conversation amidst stately trees and lush shrubbery. JACARANDA LAKES PARK Open space abounds in this park bordered by canals. There is a playground for children’s use, two hard surface tennis courts, basketball half court, and picnic tables. Restroom facilities are available during daylight hours. A half mile jogging course with fourteen stations of exercise equipment is provided, as well as parking for 20 cars. JACK CARTER/HARMONY PARK Providing native trees, benches, pavilion, and a meandering pathway, the essence of this park is an interval for relaxation. A tot lot and a small parking area are available. MARCANO ESTATES PARK Playground apparatus is available for children. Picnic tables and benches provide residents a convenient area to engage in leisure time activities. COUNTRY CLUB PARK This park includes a 1/5 mile trail w/exercise stations, pavilion, picnic tables and an open field area. MELALEUCA ISLES A passive park with picnic tables and playground equipment. MINI PARK (SOUTH) Nestled in a residential neighborhood, this small park area provides open space for spontaneous activity and tables for enjoying a picnic. MINI PARK (NORTH) Passive open space, picnic tables and benches are provided in this little neighborhood park. MIRROR LAKE PARK Two ball fields and playground apparatus are provided for residents to use and use of open space complement this friendly park. PARK EAST PARK Two basketball courts and a tot lot highlight this neighborhood park with open space for other leisure time pursuits. There is a quarter mile trail with seven stations of exercise equipment. Picnic tables are, also, available for use. PLANTATION ACRES MIDDLE Undeveloped at this time. PLANTATION ACRES SOUTH (TARA PARK) A tot lot, picnic tables, and small pond offer a passive spot for quiet pleasure. PLANTATION BUSINESS PARK This is a passive linear park with benches and a walkway. PLANTATION NORTH ACRES A passive park area with picnic tables, grills and a tot lot amidst quiet beauty. Ten of these acres are undeveloped at this time. Once development is completed, this will be a nature-oriented park with woodlands and wetlands. Parking will be available. PLANTATION POINT PARK This mini-park with benches, serves families with an area for children to play, utilizing basketball half court and tot lot playground equipment. SEMINOLE MIDDLE SCHOOL This is a joint use park site with The Broward County School Board. It has two lighted softball/soccer fields that are used by the school during the day and by Plantation Athletic League during the evenings and on weekends. SEMINOLE PARK Seminole Park has vast open spaces and picnic facilities that include a double pavilion with a large barbeque grill and picnic tables. A half mile jogging course with twenty exercise stations are provided. Restroom facilities are available. Two lighted tennis courts, sand volleyball, and colorful playground equipment are available. Pop Travers Field is accessible by a foot bridge across a canal. Located within Seminole Park is Happy Tails Dog Park. SOUTH BEL AIR PARK Located within a residential setting, this beautiful park invites a leisurely walk along the canal. PARK EAST TRAILHEAD This park allows for access to a future C-12 Canal Multi Use Recreational Trail (MURT). Amenities included on this site are: a 100 square-foot shelter, a 1200 square-foot tot lot area, benches, bike racks, interpretive signage, a drinking fountain, a neighborhood sign, a decorative fence along the east side to separate this site from the neighboring commercial site, a central turf area surrounded by a turf knoll and four on-street parking spaces along NW 9th Drive. THROWER PARK A lovely and serene park, designed for a quiet interlude. VETERANS PARK This passive park contains a memorial wall with dedication plaques and a memorial column for quiet reflection. Surrounding the interior is a meandering walkway (approximately 1,430 feet, just over ¼ of a mile) with fourteen exercise stations designed for wheelchair access. Picnic tables and grills are available for use. The City of Plantation holds it annual Veterans Memorial Event at this park. WOODBURY PARK A tranquil park for contemplative enjoyment. |
