Known as the Piranhas, the Plantation Swim Team (PST) is a City-sponsored, year-round competitive swimming team offering instruction, fitness and endurance training and competition for all ages and abilities (age-group through Masters Swimming).
In addition to the great support by the City of Plantation, the PST Booster Club raises money for travel for National team members and coaches, purchases swim equipment and sponsors fun events such as barbeques, parties and the annual awards banquet. The Booster Club provides benefits for the entire team. Everything that is raised gets rolled back into the program.
The Plantation Swim Team provides a public service to the entire area. Swimming is a healthy, life-long activity which promotes discipline, cooperation and organization, and it is an affordable activity people of all ages can enjoy. Additionally, our swim team has a different goal than most other teams in the country. Yes, we strive to be number one, but this is not our main goal. Our staff is in the business of producing not only the best possible swimmers, but also the best possible people. Because of the emphasis we place on academics, we want all school-age swimmers to show us our report cards. And we keep our office doors open for the many questions and problems swimmers and parents may have. We strive for excellence, not only in swimming, but in all aspects of life.
A combination of hard work and fun are essential for success. You will find that Plantation Swim Team members are a happy group!
