Working HoursMost full-time employees work 40 hours per week unless otherwise indicated. Pay CheckPay checks are issued bi-weekly every other Friday; direct deposit of paycheck required to any banking institution is mandatory. Insurance CoverageLife and Accidental Death and Dismemberment General Employees Pension Retirement - Mandatory contribution is 4% of base pay. Sworn Police Personnel PensionRetirement - Mandatory contribution is 8% of base pay. HolidaysThe City of Plantation observes eleven (11) paid holidays per year as declared by the City Council each year. Personal DayAll full-time employees will be given the benefit of one (1) personal day per calendar year. Cannot be used until employed six (6) months; can not be carried over from one year to the next. Sick Leave13 days per year. Accrues 4 hours at end of each bi-weekly pay period. Maximum accrual is 480 hours. Annual LeaveGeneral Employees Funeral Leave3 days (8 hours each) Jury DutyPaid full salary - all fees received, excluding mileage must be turned into the City. Educational ReimbursementEmployees will be entitled to a refund of their tuition and lab fees upon the successful completion of each approved course based on the following scale: (After one (1) year of employment)
