Plantation PreservestaffPaul Scott, General ManagerPaul Scott is a Managing Partner in Guidant Management Group, Inc. (GMG), the management company hired to provide day-to-day operations and management of the golf course. In his position as General Manager for Plantation Preserve, Mr. Scott oversees all areas of golf operations including marketing, personnel management, turf-grass management and maintenance programs, fiscal planning including revenue and expense projections, facility value analysis and risk loss management. Prior to his position with Plantation Preserve, Paul Scott was the managing partner of Wellington Golf Club in Wellington, Florida. He has also held regional management and director positions with Scratch Golf Company at Jacaranda Golf Club in Ft Lauderdale and Baytree National Golf Links in Melbourne, Florida. With over 20 years of golf course management experience, Mr. Scott is well-versed in the daily operations of multi-course, daily fee, semi-private, and private equity facilities. Mr. Scott attended Stetson University, where he studied Business Administration. He is a PGA of America Class A member (A-9 Owner/Operator/Multiple Facilities). He and his wife, Marianne, currently reside in Plantation, Florida. Randy Jacobson, Golf Course SuperintendentRandy Jacobson is originally from Savannah, Georgia and attended Austin Peay State University from 1973-1978. Randy is a member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA) and has 25 years experience as a golf course superintendent. During those years, he has served as golf course superintendent at the following courses: Jacaranda Golf Club (Plantation, FL), Hilton Head National (Bluffton, SC), LaVida Country Club (Savannah, GA) and Bacon Park Golf Course (Savannah, GA). Randy currently resides in Plantation, Florida with his son Matt and says he is very happy to be a part of Plantation Preserve and living back in South Florida. Colleen Cashman-McSween, Membership & Marketing DirectorColleen Cashman-McSween began working for Plantation Preserve during the early construction stages of the golf course in December 2004 and currently handles the membership, marketing and administrative duties on a daily basis. Colleen grew up in the City of Plantation and attended St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. in Fort Lauderdale. After competing 3 years on her high school golf team, Colleen earned a college golf scholarship to Purdue University where she won two collegiate golf tournaments and received All-Big Ten Honors and Academic All-Big Ten Honors three years in a row. After graduating with a B.S. in Restaurant, Hotel, Institutional and Tourism Management with an emphasis on country clubs in 1998, Colleen turned professional and went on to compete on the LPGA and FUTURES Tour over the next 7 years. In 2003, Colleen won her first professional golf tournament in Tampa, Florida. Colleen has competed in 2 U.S. Women’s Opens – 2002 at Prarie Dunes in Hutchinson, KS and 2006 at Newport CC in Newport, RI. Dedicated to teaching junior golfers, expecially young girls, about the sport and mechanics of golf, Colleen has served as the head golf coach for her very successful St. Thomas Aquinas High School girl’s golf team since the fall of 1999. Colleen was married in December 2003 to her husband David and currently resides in Tamarac, FL. Brian Schuler, Head Golf ProfessionalBrian Schuler has been the Head Golf Professional at Plantation Preserve since August 2005. Before working at Plantation Preserve, Brian moved from Hopewell Junction, NY to become the assistant golf professional at Wellington Golf Club in Wellington, Florida in the winter of 2002. Brian currently manages the day-to-day operations of the pro shop, organizes members’ golf tournaments and public golf outings, and provides golf instruction to both members and non-members. Brian attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Brian is engaged to be married in May of 2010 to his fiancé Meredith Winkelmann. Blake Dickenson, Assistant Golf ProfessionalBlake Dickenson has been at Plantation Preserve since May 2008. Since high school, Blake has been in the golf business where he first started working in the bagroom and is currently working towards finishing his PGA bookwork to become a Class A Golf Professional. Before working at Plantation Preserve, Blake was at Bloomingdale Golfers Club in Tampa, FL. Born in Dallas, TX, Blake attended college at the University of South Florida where he played soccer. Blake currently assists in day to day operations of the golf shop and outside operations, as well as running the Plantation Preserve Men’s Golf Association and tournament operations. Blake also enjoys providing golf instruction to golfers of all ages. Denise Booker, Head ChefDenise Booker joined the Plantation Preserve staff in May, 2006 after leaving The Pelican Grand Hotel on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Born in Nassau, Bahamas and having lived in Jamaica as well, Denise completed most of her studies in the islands beginning with an apprenticeship at the Holiday Inn Freeport and culminating with her graduation from The College of the Bahamas with a degree in culinary arts. Because of her excellent record, Denise was offered a scholarship to the Norfolk School in Brighton, England where she worked under the supervision of many highly regarded executive chefs learning many various cooking techniques in the European, Italian, French, American and Caribbean fields. In 1998, Denise relocated to South Florida and has worked at the Palm Aire Resort, the Airport Hilton and the Airport Sheraton before she decided to join Plantation Preserve as a sous chef. After almost two strong years of hard work and dedication, Denise was promoted in April 2008 to the Head Chef position where she oversees all daily kitchen operations including ordering, scheduling and cooking as well as the entire catering department. Denise resides in Lauderhill with her 12 year old son Demittre. Shannon Maher, Director of Catering and Special EventsShannon was born and raised on the West Coast of Florida but was drawn to the East Coast after graduating from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Communication Studies and a Minor in Marketing, Shannon handles day to day finances of the restaurant along with the sales and coordinating of all special events. You will see Shannon from the initial proposal through the planning stages to actually being on site at the event and she wants nothing more than to make your event a memorable success. |
