Public Transportation

Broward County Transit
One money saving, and environmentally friendly transportation solution is Broward County Transit (BCT).  BCT can take riders practically anywhere you want to go — work, schools, shopping, libraries, parks, cultural and civic activities, and other places of interest. They also provide links to Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties transit systems.

BCT buses provide connectivity Broward County’s multimodal transportation network, as well as system wide connections at three transfer terminals: Broward Central Terminal (downtown Fort Lauderdale); West Regional Terminal (Plantation) and Lauderhill Mall Transfer Facility (Lauderhill). The Northeast Transit Center (Pompano Beach) will open in Fall 2009.

Plantation Tram
The City of Plantation joined forces with Broward County Transit to encourage more people to utilize public transportation and increase the number of destinations that can be reached through public transportation. The City of Plantation’s bus service, known as the Plantation Tram, is designed to work in conjunction with Broward County Transit Routes 2, 12, 18, 22, 30, 40, 56, 75 81, and 88.

There is a nominal charge to ride the Plantation Tram, and riders who make connections to Broward County Transit routes are expected to pay the associated fares.
