THE CARE FORCE – CUSTOMER SERVICE TASK FORCE

If you would like to nominate an employee for outstanding customer service you received, please fill out this nomination form , and fax it to 954-797-2727 or mail it to Arlette Steinberger, 400 NW 73rd Avenue, Plantation, FL 33317.

While the term “Customer Service” is one that is thrown around lightly these days, it is something we take very seriously here at the City of Plantation. So seriously, in fact, that we have created a Customer Service Task Force, appropriately named The CARE Force.  Its mission is Employees committed to promoting and recognizing superior customer service; and its vision is to Lead by example through C (commitment) A (attitude) R (respect) E (everyday).

The acronym CARE stands for Commitment, Attitude Respect Everyday. CARE Force members have been chosen by their department directors for their proven commitment and understanding of the importance of customer service. The Care Force has been in effect for several years now, and in that time it has launched a number of programs behind the scenes that help make it easier for you to do business with the City of Plantation. They include:

  • Ask City Hall to better facilitate communication with the public.
  • Employee Recognition Program, a simple, inexpensive way to recognize employees for outstanding customer service
  • The Pen & Ink, the City’s employee newsletter, redesigned to be more customer-service focused.
  • Employee Appreciation Cookouts to recognize employees for their efforts
  • Customer Service Reference Guide to help employees transfer callers to the right place the first time, plus other topics of importance to help create a save work environment
  • Employee Intranet Site with links to the City handbook, City forms, past PEN & Ink issues, a chart of accounts and other helpful links

In addition to the CARE Force initiatives, there have been marked changes in some of our City facilities: the Building Department in Development Services Building, Public Works Administration and the Mayor’s offices in City Hall. Today, when visiting the City of Plantation, either for business to one of our operational departments such as Building or Planning & Zoning, or for pleasure to one of the many recreational facilities, you are greeted by a friendly and professional staff in an environment that is conducive to pleasant conversation and efficient provision of services.

Some of the initiatives, such as Ask City Hall and the online customer service survey, are more obvious to City residents. Others, such as the employee newsletter or the employee appreciation cookouts, are less beneficial in an obvious way, but have a great impact on employee morale and motivation. But all of them have one goal in mind: to make your experience with the City the best possible!
