ATTENTION CONTRACTORS/OWNER-BUILDERS
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1ST, 2007 – THE CUT OFF TIME FOR NEXT DAY INSPECTION WILL BE NOON PER FLORIDA BUILDING CODE – 109.5
Inspections are required after obtaining permits per Florida Building Code. There are other types of inspections, which vary due to types of construction. If inspection requests are received between 8:00 am and 12 noon, the inspection will be made the next day or as soon as possible. If inspections are requested after 12 noon, subject inspection will be scheduled in two business days or as soon as possible.
In order to schedule an inspection, you must have your permit number and your inspection code (located on your permit receipt).
After an inspection has been completed, an inspector will sign a permit card on the premises only when the subject inspection was approved. These permit cards are usually placed in an approved location. A disapproved inspection may constitute a re-inspection fee. This fee must be paid prior to any further inspections.
Overtime Inspections: These require a minimum of $500.00 in the cost recovery account. Fees for services will be deducted at time and a half rate, plus expenses.
